Based on the south western shores of Lake Windermere, in 100 acres of private woodland, we provide high-quality outdoor adventure holidays and development programmes for schools, youth groups and corporate clients and families.

Administration & Systems Support Officer
YMCA Lakeside, Newby Bridge | Full-Time | £27,066 per annum
Are you tech-savvy, super-organised, and love the idea of working somewhere with purpose and fresh air? We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Administration and Systems Support Officer to help keep the wheels turning smoothly at our inspiring Outdoor Education Centre on the shores of Lake Windermere.
At YMCA Lakeside, we believe in changing lives through outdoor learning and adventure. We’re a charity dedicated to helping young people grow in confidence, resilience and connection – both with others and the natural world.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting staff with Microsoft 365 and in-house systems (like Cinolla).
- Coordinating external contractors for site services (think: catering, cleaning, maintenance).
- Running our ever-popular tuck shop – yes, that means snacks!
- Creating and managing templates, documents, and digital workflows.
- Helping everyone stay organised, on time, and stress-free.
What we’re looking for:
- An experienced user of Microsoft 365 – especially Excel, Word & Outlook
- Someone who’s calm, organised and ready to support others.
- A team player who can also work independently and juggle a varied workload.
- Retail experience and systems support experience are great bonuses!

As a Site Support Worker what does the role entail:
Your day will consist of …
- Completing scheduled maintenance tasks
- Maintaining grounds by mowing lawns, clearing leaves, pressure washing hard surfaced walkways & roads
- Washing windows and other areas as required
- Inspecting, fixing and maintaining equipment as agreed with your supervisor
- Painting and decorating or conducting basic repairs to fittings as required
- Where required working with the housekeeper ensuring all rooms are ready for use by customers.
This job is for you, if…
- You have a flexible approach and be willing to carry out both the functions listed and other roles as required
- You have a good standard of education to G.C.S.E level or equivalent, with grade C or above – or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
- You have good communication skills both written and verbal.
- You are a confident team worker who can work on their own initiative or work as part of a team.
- You can work occasional unsociable hours, including weekends.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
