YMCA Lakeside has welcomed Dame Allan’s School for many residentials in the autumn and winter months.
They have joined us for an inter-schools outdoor challenge in February, where teams of 10 students engage in different outdoor activities to accumulate points over several weeks.
Their latest visit was in autumn. Listen to Colette Ashby, Outdoor education and Leadership instructor, talk to us about a visit with Sixth Form students participating in an ‘in tray’ challenge. The challenge included:
- Time and resource management
- Raft building, requiring teamwork and strategy
- Mountain rescue scenario involving first aid
