Pupils from Lytham Church of England Primary School enjoyed an outdoor residential trip to YMCA Lakeside, on the tranquil southern shore of Windermere in the heart of the Lake District.
Surrounded by 100 acres of private woodland, YMCA Lakeside offers a unique blend of outdoor learning and unforgettable adventure. The pupils took full advantage of the centre’s stunning lakeside setting, experiencing three days of land and water-based activities designed to challenge, inspire and develop essential life skills.
The residential was not only packed with fun but also focused on personal growth—building confidence, resilience, and teamwork in a safe, supportive environment.
“YMCA Lakeside is the perfect destination for a school residential,” said the Year 6 teacher from Lytham C of E Primary. “It’s about being in nature and lots of opportunities for our pupils to step out of their comfort zones and grow in ways the classroom can’t always offer.”
YMCA Lakeside specialises in school trips that combine outdoor education with character development, ensuring young people leave with lasting memories and new skills that shape brighter futures.
